Joint network for cardiovascular disease management in the cross-border region Romania - Republic of Moldova CARDIOSCOPE
The Order of Nurses, Midwives and Medical Assistants in Romania Iasi Branch launches the Joint Network Project for Cardiovascular Disease Management in the Cross-Border Region Romania - Republic of Moldova CARDIOSCOPE funded by the European Union through the Joint Operational Program Romania-Republic of Moldova 2014-2020 through the European Neighborhood (ENI 2SOFT / 4.1 / 80).
The project is carried out in partnership with the Public Medical Sanitary Institution the Ungheni Region Hospital, for a period of 15 months (20.02.2020-19.05.2021). The total budget of the project is 221,862 euros, of which 90% of 199,675.8 EURO is provided by the EU through the European Neighborhood Instrument and 10% of 22186.2 euros is its own co-financing.
CARDIOSCOPE aims to strengthen the management of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in the cross-border region of Iasi-Ungheni by implementing an integrated framework of screening, monitoring and personalized therapy for the population living in Iasi County and Ungheni County by the end of 2020, to improve prevention, detection and treatment of CVDs.
Activities to be carried out include:
- A database of cardiovascular diseases composed of medical data and the parameters of the investigated patients;
- Acquisition of equipment, development of a model of primary care services and medical protocols for performing a patient-centered management of care services. The aim is to better respond to patients' needs, emergencies and improve the quality of primary therapy;
- Development of 2 medical protocols for screening and 1 for monitoring;
- Designing a training program - for 100 doctors from Ungheni County - which will include the curriculum and webinar version of the course modules dedicated to increasing knowledge and skills;
- Designing a training program for 200 nurses in Iași and Ungheni County;
- Develop an Institutional Agreement as a framework strategy for the governance, ownership and use of project results to improve cardiovascular disease management in the regions where the project will take place;
- A Common Strategy for Cardiovascular Disease Management;
- A manual for the prevention and early detection of cardiovascular diseases;
- Realization of a joint screening and monitoring program for 1000 patients from Iași County and Ungheni County for early detection and therapy of cardiovascular diseases in the project region;
The final beneficiaries will be citizens from the cross-border region, who will have access to a specific and standardized CVD screening program based on the CVD risk assessment methodology and a new model of primary care services, 400 nurses who will use the model primary care services to carry out the CVD screening and monitoring program for early detection and prevention of cardiovascular diseases in the cross-border region and to increase patients' access to specialized medical services, 100 doctors and 200 nurses from Iasi and Ungheni County who will benefit from training programs.
